I decided to create this blog because I want the real stories of women in science to be heard. I don't want to just give advise to young women interested to pursue a career in the sciences, because each of us is different; what works for one person might not work for another. That's why I wanted to try to get my colleagues to share their stories, together with mine. My hope is that the next generation of women will read these stories and get some ideas about how to navigate and be successful in a field dominated by men. At the same time I'm hoping that some of our male colleagues will read these stories and understand a little better what the world looks like through our eyes.
